Online Safety
This week on our online safety show: The Dangers of Online Challenges.
Online challenges are activities that people share on social media, often involving dares or stunts. They can range from simple acts to more extreme behaviours, and their popularity grows as people post their participation online.
What may seem harmless fun or a trendy activity can be extremely dangerous, leading to severe consequences.
Many people who have taken up these challenges have ended up with serious injuries, some of which cause lasting physical harm. Additionally, some challenges involve illegal activities, which can lead to legal trouble.
The pressure to participate can also cause significant emotional distress, especially when someone feels uncertain or uncomfortable about what they’re being asked to do.
Our advice is to be a critical thinker and seek advice if unsure.
