World Book Day
The Joy of Reading
At St Edward’s, pupils embraced the magic of storytelling as they celebrated World Book Day. The day started with vibrant assemblies in upper and lower school, where staff brought their favourite literary characters to life through imaginative costumes. Adding to the excitement, pupils participated in a fun-filled quiz, guessing books and characters from them.
The Madhatter invited pupils to An Alice in Wonderland-themed lunch. Later in the day, Eden pupils headed to Waterstones in Romsey to choose a new book to purchase to celebrate the day. The event was a wonderful reminder of books' joy and escapism, inspiring pupils to explore new stories and cherish the power of reading.

Longdown Activity Farm
Our class trip to Longdown Activity Farm on World Book Day was packed with fun, learning, and a few unexpected surprises!
The excitement started with hands-on farm experiences feeding baby goats, stroking fluffy chicks and guinea pigs, and even zooming around on go-karts, where everyone felt like a kid again! One of the biggest surprises? A special meet-and-greet with Belle! While the pupils found it slightly embarrassing, they just couldn’t resist snapping a photo with her awkward smiles and all!
Beyond the fun, the trip was a great way to put our learning into practice. Pupils applied their Maths and ASDAN skills by handling money at the farm shop, while our Humanities topic on Fairtrade came to life as we identified and explored ethical products!
