Bringing First Aid to Life
Learning first aid is a crucial skill, and for many pupils, practising with an Annie doll is their first hands-on experience with resuscitation techniques. These lifelike training mannequins help pupils understand the mechanics of CPR, including chest compressions and rescue breaths, in a safe and controlled environment.
By engaging in practical exercises, pupils gain confidence in responding to real-life emergencies. They learn how to check for breathing, call for help, and perform effective compressions all essential skills that could one day save a life.

Hengistbury Head
Yesterday, our class had an amazing educational trip to Hengistbury Head in Bournemouth, where we explored both the Educational Centre and the stunning coastal landscape. At the Hengistbury Head Educational Centre, we learned about the area’s rich history, diverse wildlife, and unique geology.
The interactive exhibits helped us understand the importance of conservation and how the landscape has evolved. We even saw some fascinating fossils with microscopes and artefacts that gave us a glimpse into the past! We visited the outdoor garden, where we had the opportunity to observe plants starting to bloom and witness the diverse wildlife that calls the garden home. From colourful flowers to birds and other animals thriving in their natural habitat, seeing nature up was a wonderful experience. After our time at the centre, we set off on a hike along the beachfront, taking in the breathtaking views of the coastline.
Walking through the sandy beaches, cliffs, and heathland, we experienced first-hand the beauty of this natural reserve. We also picked up some sea shells and chatted with a team of archaeologists from Bournemouth University. The trip was educational and inspiring, giving us a deeper appreciation for nature and the environment. Once more, our pupils were great ambassadors of our school!
