A Week of Real-World Learning

Celebrating Our Year 10s & 11s

We're incredibly proud of our Year 10 and 11 pupils who recently completed their work experience placements. They've immersed themselves in the world of work, gaining invaluable experience and a real taste of what lies ahead.

Our pupils have been developing crucial real-world skills, putting their classroom learning into practice and discovering what it takes to succeed in a professional environment. They've learned about teamwork, communication, time management, and the importance of a good work ethic. They've experienced the challenges and rewards of contributing to a team and understanding the dynamics of a workplace.

We've heard some brilliant stories of our pupils excelling in their placements, demonstrating initiative, and impressing their supervisors. Many have discovered hidden talents and perhaps even sparked ideas for future career paths.

Work experience is a crucial step in preparing our pupils for the future, bridging the gap between education and employment. It provides them with the opportunity to explore different career options, build confidence, and gain a deeper understanding of what will be required of them in the working world. These are skills that can't be taught in a classroom, and we're so pleased that our pupils have embraced this opportunity with such enthusiasm.

A big thank you to all the local businesses and organisations who supported our pupils this week. Your commitment to nurturing the next generation is invaluable. And finally, a huge well done to our Year 10 and 11 pupils! You've done yourselves and the school proud. We hope this experience has been both rewarding and insightful, setting you up for success in your future careers.

We welcomed the Image Theatre, who performed at our school in an engaging performance which included our pupils. This was a truly magical experience for those who took part and watched.

Read more about the Image Musical Theatre below:

Set in the vibrant tropical jungle of India and adapted from the original Rudyard Kipling story this production dramatises the journey to maturity of Mowgli the man cub. With loving care from his adopted wolf family and much advice from Bagheera the panther and Baloo the bear, Mowgli stands firm against the manipulation of Shere Khan the tiger.

Another wonderful production from Image Musical Theatre; the same creative team that produced the highly acclaimed ‘The Wind in the Willows’, ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and ‘Pinocchio’. This is another moving and stimulating experience of high quality musical theatre for both children and adults.

The show itself is preceded by a rehearsal workshop where some of the children are chosen to take part in the show while the remainder of the audience are rehearsed into four chorus songs. Image Musical Theatre has an excellent reputation for producing work that is stimulating and entertaining while maintaining very high production values.
