Celebrating Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week at

St Edward’s School

This week at St Edward’s, we’ve been actively celebrating Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week, encouraging open conversations about mental well-being among our pupils. Through engaging in discussions whilst learning to podcast, pupils delivering assemblies and other hands-on activities, pupils have explored the importance of mental health and ways to support themselves and others.

In addition to these awareness efforts, we proudly launched our new well-being initiative, designed to promote a supportive and healthy school environment. It’s been an inspiring week of learning, reflection, and positive action!

Trip to Spinnaker Tower

Our class trip to Spinnaker Tower was an exciting and enriching experience, combining Humanities, Maths, and well-being activities. As part of our study on the local area, we explored the tower’s significance in Portsmouth’s skyline and its role in the community.

Using our maths skills, we calculated the perimeter and area of the tower’s impressive glass window after we experienced standing on top of it, which was quite scary, and compared its height to other famous landmarks. To celebrate Children’s Mental Health Week, we treated ourselves to a well-deserved cream tea, enjoying the stunning views while reflecting on the importance of relaxation and mindfulness. It was a perfect blend of learning and well-being, making for a truly memorable day! Our pupils, for one more time, were excellent ambassadors of our school.
