Four lucky pupils were given the opportunity to attend a Premier League match at St Mary's Stadium, home of Southampton FC, as they hosted Chelsea FC.
Martyn, our Head Of PE, had organised with Southampton's Community Team for the pupils to have exclusive access to the Sensory Box at the club - a truly VIP experience. Our staff were not overly pleased with the result (Southampton losing 5-1), but both pupils and staff enjoyed the evening, especially the half-time visit from the club mascots! We were all fortunate enough to meet and greet the Southampton Manager, Russell Martin, on the way into the stadium.
It was a fantastic experience for all involved, and we hope to revisit it later.
Salisbury Cathedral
On Tuesday, 9C and 10C pupils had the opportunity to visit Salisbury Cathedral, followed by a festive Christmas lunch at the Chapter House!
The day was filled with learning, laughter and holiday cheer. It was wonderful to see the pupils enjoying themselves so much. At Salisbury Cathedral, the pupils were amazed by the stunning architecture and learned about its fascinating history. We had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to climb up its iconic spire, the tallest in the UK, to see the incredible medieval clock and the stunning views from up there. We all left our comfort zone and put our brave faces on to climb 334 narrow, wooden and stone steps, but the view was worth it. We also had the chance to have a glimpse of the original Magna Carta copy. Our tour guide was gobsmacked with the pupils’ impeccable behaviour and their engagement, questioning and in-depth answers.
We were all incredibly proud of how well our pupils represented the school during the trip, showing great respect and enthusiasm; it was a perfect way to combine learning with a festive celebration as we approach the holiday season.

St Edward's School Supporting the Trussell Trust
This Thursday, St Edward's delivered hampers full of food collected by generous donations. We thank pupils, parents, and staff. The school has gathered essential items to support families in need during this critical time of year.
The Trussell Trust plays a vital role in providing food and support to those facing hardship, and these donations will help bring comfort to many this Christmas season. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed, your kindness makes a real difference.
