Last summer we were lucky to have our very own St Edward’s apple juice. Pupils supported the site staff in picking the apples from our orchard and sending them for bottling. Visitors, staff and pupils have all commented on the delicious flavour. This year, we are planting more apple trees in the orchard for future generations to enjoy. Headmaster, Graham Maher, joined pupil, Josh, in the planting process. Mike Hurd, estate manager, explained that the trees had to be planted at a 45% angle to ensure growth and protection from the prevailing wind. Hopefully, many years from now different members of the St Edward’s community will be enjoying the fruits of our labour.
