Anyone interested in construction can only be impressed by the innovative build at St Edward’s School. Over the course of two days the site went from foundations to a steel structure resembling the shape of a building. The arrival of the steel modules was conducted with military precision. Huge delivery lorries lined up in service areas and laybys awaiting the radio call to summon them to site. One after the other they arrived and were greeted by a huge crane who lifted their cargo and placed it, almost like Lego, into its allocated space. And ‘viola’ there was a building!
The next stage will be to insulate and then brickwork the structure paying great attention to the Passivhaus requirements.
